Albeit a little late, the EQC Development team hopes that everyone enjoyed a safe and fun 4th of July! The past few months have been really great for the EQClassic Team as many features have been added, many things have been fixed and we have been blessed with new talented and inspired developers. Stay tuned in the days ahead for complete news updates and remember to register on the forums as registration closes next Saturday for a while to cut down on drama.

Administrative Notice

Greetings adventurers!
A quick administrative note to everyone:
Forum registration will be suspended Saturday 7/19/2008 @ 11:59pm eastern until further notice. The forums have become a little stale, filled with drama, and a stomping ground for bored nincompoops so we will be suspending registration until closed beta is well under way. We need our team to be able to focus on fixes and fun instead of policing people as we come closer and closer to closed beta.
Stay tuned for the next news post which will list many of the fixes that have have been made recently! And don't forget to register and have your friends register before next weeks deadline if you are interested in making posts. Also the Anything Goes thread is permanently locked, therefore it is now considered Nothing Goes.
Just another quick reminder, everyone is welcome to join us on IRC. There is usualy a developer there 24/7 willing to answer intelligent questions (read the FAQ, read the forums Q/A section before asking questions) and engage in chitter chatter.

That's right! Please join me in welcoming our new EQC developer Pinedepain! He has proven his worth with his fantastic work on the bard class! Below is a quick peek at what he has been able to accomplish on his own!

New Major Milestone in Server Development!

I have more great news to report and just before the end of a very productive month! After a long week of frustration, debugging, coding and testing, I am exceptionally pleased to announce the creation of a very fast, efficient pathing system by the EQC team! In early trials on a 3,500 node environment (more nodes than any zone really needs), seek times have been insignificant (instant)!
Below is a video clip of this system. Please keep in mind NPC movement updating has only a handful of hours behind it and what you see here is not an accurate representation of what you will experience when the server launches:

More good news comes this month as I am pleased to announce the implementation of a reliable fear pathing solution, which gives fleeing mobs ample foresight into avoiding pitfalls and obstacles. Below are two videos of the system in both practical and demo applications.

As always, we have other exciting features currently in development, too:

+ Agro pathing (finding the shortest, best path between two points)
+ Boats; yar matey![/list:u:3b7rx8d3]
