First time I think I've ever done it in this game.

I came to realize that in actuality, this is just good practice for EQC. xD

What are some camps you foresee yourself doing?

Gynok Moltor in Befallen... for the platinum ring in Paw of Opolla quest /shiver
Fungus Mutant in Upper Guk for the same quest... even more /shiver....
Cloaked Damphyre in Mistmoore for the HBC
And of course good ol' AC in Sro/OOT

I forget exactly, but didn't a mob in Najena actually drop the Jboots for a while before the AC was implemented?

Drelzna dropped the Jboots in the old days in Najena

Drelna was a dark elf Shadow Knight in a room with 2 Dark Elf Magicians. I don't remember any of her other drops. It was nice and easy being able to camp her. I think the jboots quest itself required like 1k+ plat. I don't understand why they removed it from her drop table. It really became a pain in the ass once you had to get the ring and find the super fast running guy and give him the ring and money while you were encumbered with all that plat. Doesn't make sense to me.

Najena was the official ruler of the zone and she was hidden behind a locked door after swimming through an underground tunnel thing. She dropped the Flowing Black Robes. She also dropped Black Tome with Silver Runes and Clawed Knuckle-Ring.

They removed it as a drop because it was the sort of item that a huge percentage of the player base wanted regardless of level, so the amount of camping it caused in Najena was a problem. By making it quested and placing one of the quest items on multiple, random rare spawns they accomplished two things; they created multiple locations for people to camp for the item instead of funneling everyone through one spot, and increased the amount of time it took for an individual to actually acquire the boots. This made Najena available again as a midling level dungeon instead of a place that was always partially camped by higher level players. It also introduced a money sink into an economy that sorely need some.

You couldn't even turn in plat, it had to be converted to gold. HA lets make players carry around 3250g pieces and catch a guy that runs faster than SoW! That'll be hilarious!

He doesn't run faster than SoW, but he does run faster than a player who is encumbered from carrying so much weight. The three ways you can catch him are either a) know is pathing and wait for him to come to you or b) get a player to find him, and keep hailing him til you show up, or c) dump all your gear in the bank bags and all before you head out, you should be able to catch him as long as you have SoW.

Since I will be at the very least leveling a cleric and (if boxing is allowed) an enchanter, I anticipate myself doing all the camps for the cleric epic, lord burgurgle (hate this camp soooo much), ragefire, that stupid guy in SolB in the giant area, and so on. I've never done the enchanter epic, so not sure about that one yet.

Alright, I get to finally kill Cazel instead of just training him around the Oasis

I'm not looking forward to the camps needed for Robe of the Lost Circle, when I decide to level a monk.

Yea, the two pipes were the worst camps in all of games.
